Five Japanese Companies to Form JV for Mobile TV Services

According to Wall Street Journal, five Japanese companies, NTT DoCoMo, Fuji TV, Nippon Broadcasting, Sky Perfect, and Itochu, announced on Nov 29 that they will establish a joint venture on December 6, named Multimedia Broadcasting. Equally owned by five companies, the joint venture is capitalized at 30 million Yen (US$259,123; US$1 = 115.8 Yen), and is expected to further develop and promote terrestrial digital broadcasting services for mobile phones, allowing users to watch TV programs on mobile phones.
